Stephanie Nuccitelli - Food BloggerFood Blogger Stephanie Nuccitelli turned her love of baking into an all-around cooking passion with her foodie blog, which includes slow cooker recipes, healthy recipes, baking and dessert recipes and more!

"Cooking is something I do in my spare time," Nuccitelli said. "Until fairly recently I actually hated cooking – it stressed me out. I have always loved baking and realized that I needed to face my fear and force myself to start cooking."

Nuccitelli said she wanted to start cooking more and try new foods, so she created her blog, 52 Kitchen Adventures, as a way to force herself to try something new and cook once a week. Over 2010, she explored one unusual ingredient each week, demystifying different foods from strange looking produce to exotic pantry items.

"I’ve cooked lots of exotic ingredients through my 52 kitchen adventures (cooking one unusual thing a week in 2010)," Nuccitelli said. "Some of the more unusual ones were caul fat, pig trotters, durian and candy cap mushrooms. One of the most difficult things I’ve ever made were French macraons, the infamously finicky cookies."

Her blog became a creative outlet for her and Nuccitelli started sharing recipes several times a week. She said she loves to bake so it’s turned into a bit of a baking and dessert blog, along with many slow cooker recipes, healthy recipes and other food adventures.

Nuccitelli describes her cooking style as "easy and healthy."

"That's why I love my slow cooker," Nuccitelli said. " You dump in a bunch of ingredients and come back several hours later to a fully prepared dinner!I I try to eat healthy as well, so I use a lot of whole grains, lean meats and vegetables."

Nuccitelli said she cooks for herself mostly and occasionally for friends and family. She also bakes often for her friends, coworkers and family.

"I love brightening someone's day with a fun treat," Nuccitelli said.

When Nuccitelli is not cooking, she teaches preschool and mentors college students who are studying child development. She also works at a social media agency. In her spare time, she blogs!

Nuccitelli said her favorite thing to make is cupcakes.

"They're cute, yummy and I love how they're the perfect individual portions," she said. " I can bring a few to my friends, a few to my coworkers and eat one (or two) myself."

Nuccitelli's recipes have appeared in a family friendly parenting magazine, Yolo Parents Monthly. Additionally, her recipes have been featured on Bon Appetit's web site, Yummly, The Huffington Post and others.
