What brand of bacon and scalloped potatoes do you like to use? Does your brand use real bacon bits? The imitation ones always leave a bad taste in my mouth, so I am pretty picky when it comes to bacon dishes. I would rather use the regular scalloped potatoes and cook some bacon to crumble in the dish than the imitation mixes.
