My sweet hubby loves beef and broccoli! When we were dating, we would go out to dinner at various restaurants and if we went to a Chinese restaurant, he would always order Beef Broccoli. I need to make this for him soon, he would be so happy! Wonderful recipe for a great guy. I love the deep brown color of the meat and the ease of making a satisfying meal is such a draw for me. I know that I can have this planned out and ready to go into the crock pot and not have to wonder what I am going to make for dinner. Makes for a carefree day when I have dinner mapped out and cooking early! This one is on my to make soon list for sure.

I would probably use the fresh broccoli in this dish, and add it a little earlier in the cooking process. Sometimes I buy a package of the frozen broccoli and it is mostly all stems. The fresh garlic, broth, soy sauce, and dark brown sugar mixture makes a great sauce and marinade for pretty much any kind of beef dish, and even is nice to soak beef skewers in for a couple hours before putting on the grill!

Beef and broccoli is my favorite Chinese takeout meal. Now I can make it at home, and add cashews. I can't wait to try this recipe. I gave my wok away years ago because I wasn't using it, but I always have my slow cooker available. I'm making this next week!
