I can't wait to try this. it reminds me of a recipe that is very popular in Missouri--Old Settler Beans that puts some brown sugar with the sour. My husband absolutely loves them and I think he would love these too.

Where did you get the idea to add brown sugar and beer to polish sausage? I would never in a million years think to use the brown sugar. I love it! I think the taste combination is so good. I can see serving this for my Super Bowl party. Thanks for the idea.

This looks really good and sounds interesting. I would add a few caraway seeds and pepper. If you cannot or don't want to use beer you can use the sauer kraut juice instead of draining it. You can adjust the amount of brown sugar to suit your taste.
