Better than Arby's Roast Beef

Love the taste of Arby's? Then you'll love this Better than Arby's Roast Beef recipe. This slow cooker roast beef makes for a great overnight dish. Just place all of the ingredients in the slow cooker and let it do the work for you. The secret to this Arby's roast beef recipe is brown sugar and onion soup mix. Who knew that those ingredients would make a delicious meal? Serve these sandwiches with curly fries as Arby's does. Whip up a side salad and you've got a great meal that everyone will love.

Founding of Arby's

While you’re chowing down on that copycat Arby’s food, you may want to learn about how this food chain got its start. You may be surprised to hear that Arby’s is the second largest sandwich chain in the U.S. owning over 3,300 restaurants across the nation. The restaurant was founded in Boardman, Ohio in 1964 by two brothers, Forrest and Leroy Raffel. In fact, the name of the chain came from the initials of the Raffel Brothers, R.B, which morphed into Arby’s. They originally only served roast beef sandwiches, which is still a classic menu item today. The interior design of the original Arby’s was meant to attract a more upscale clientele, and they sold their roast beef sandwiches for $0.69, which was much pricier than the $0.15 burgers sold at competing food stands. The classic taste of a roast beef sandwich will never grow old, and you’ll definitely want to try this copycat recipe to see what all of the fuss is about!

This looks good. What type of roast would you use and how do you slice it so thin.

Arby's is my favorite place and it probably is the arbys sauce I put on the sandwich which I love the most. Anybody know the recipe for the sauce?

The recipe is wonderful. However, I wonder how many skip past it because of its name? LOL. Arby's roast beef is absolutely awful! What I feed my dog is better in quality or taste than arby's roast beef. IMO - ANYTHING is better than arby's roast beef so it takes nothing to be better than arbys!

That's great, smoky1953! We're glad you enjoyed the recipe :) --Editors of AllFreeSlowCookerRecipes

I fixed this for a Saturday night meal and invited my sister who is an avid Arby's lover. She couldn't tell the difference - she actually thought I went to Arby's and bought supper!
