This recipe for Slow Cooker Barbecue Pork on Buns is a great way to make pulled pork sandwiches without the use of an oven. Make this BBQ pork sandwich recipe right in your slow cooker, and enjoy that same, delicious taste without the typical hassle. After cooking, slice or shred the pork to your liking and pile it on a bun with more barbecue sauce. Top the sandwich off with pickle slices or a creamy slaw.   • 2 pound pork loin roast, boneless
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 3/4 cup cola
  • 3/4 cup barbecue sauce
  • 8 sandwich buns


  1. Combine all ingredients except buns in a 4-quart slow-cooker.

  2. Cook, covered, on HIGH for 5-6 hours, until very tender.

  3. Drain and slice or shred pork.

  4. Serve on buns with additional barbecue sauce, if desired.

How do you go wrong with cola and barbecue sauce? I never though in a million years that cola would go good in a meat recipe until I tried it by accident at a party. I had to have the recipe when I tried these meatballs and when I heard cola I was like what? No way! Sure enough though, it was in the recipe, and I have used it ever since.
