So she says her slow cooker has a vented lid. And mine doesn't. So I will probably put a layer of paper towel under the lid to soak up that moisture. Granny Smith would be a good all around choice for their tartness and the contrast to all the sweet and spice. Again, dried and sweetened cranberries are most likely going to find their way inside this dessert. It is just a classic combination!

Do you like to peel your apples for this recipe, or do you do like I do and leave the peels on the fruit to get the nutrients? Some people don't like the texture of the peel in desserts, but I am a big fan of getting all the vitamins that you can out of your foods. Of course, cooking them for long periods takes most of it out, but with the peel you can help keep more.

During the autumn months, I really crave apple-based desserts. It's great to be able to pick your own apples at an orchard and use them in many different recipes.

This slow cooker dump cake looks delicious and I can almost smell it cooking in this recipe. What a quick and easy way to make a cake. Pour in the ingredients and leave cooking without having to check on it all the time. I love that. My kind of cooking sometimes to get a break.I my have to invest in more crock pots to do whole meals.Pour in the crock and run errands and come back home and done. It also helps to have a timer on the crock pot so it goes off by itself. Can not wait to try. Great tutorial and a video too. Can you use any kind of apples?
