My husband always seems to have trouble when trying to make good barbeque ribs solely on the charcoal grill. If the heat's too high they become tough and overly charred, but if you cook them low and slow you have to keep an eye on the flame and adjust the heat accordingly. Doing them in the slow cooker first takes all the guesswork out of it, and ensures tenderness!
