I love French Onion soup and the thought of being able to caramelize a bunch of onions in the slow cooker is a great idea. I checked out the blog recipe and the awesome ideas for mixing the onions in other recipes is worth a check out. I also really love grilled onions on burgers, and I think that these caramelized ones would do the trick. Think Patty Melts!! Yummy idea, can't wait to try this.

I had given up making onion soup because the caramelizing onions each time was a pain. I will try this recipe and make a large batch of the onions so I can use it twice. A clever way to use the slow cooker.
