Slow Cooker Sticky Chicken Recipe

This Slow Cooker Sticky Chicken Recipe is the perfect meal to make if you don't have much time for meal preparation. With barely any prep time at all, this sticky chicken recipe packs in the flavor for a deliciously easy dinner. The chicken breasts cook in equal amounts of barbecue sauce and apricot jam, giving them a sweet and tangy flavor and a sticky outside. While typical versions of this slow cooker chicken recipe are made in the oven, making them in your slow cooker will save you time and effort. Serve the chicken breasts with rice or pasta and fresh vegetables.

I have to use something other than the apricot preserves because my daughter is severely allergic. Do you think that peach preserves or orange marmalade would work in this case? What barbecue sauce do you use because I know some are sweeter than others? Our favorite is the Sweet Baby Ray's Original- no affiliation.

This recipe reminds me of some sweet and sticky chicken wings I had at a restaurant before, but since it uses breast meat it is much lower in fat! The sauce is wonderful and refreshing! I might even slice the chicken into smaller strips so they can be coated with even more sauce.

I am with her. The less ingredients and the less effort required, the better it is for me! As I get older I have discovered that I prefer to spend less and less time in the kitchen, hence more and more one pot or slow cooker recipes for me. I have done the orange chicken, so this is nearly the same thing except for the addition of the dry onion soup mix. I'm ready to try this and this week!
