I think I can just buy the seasoning packets that they sell in the cereal department to whip up my Chex Mix snack mix, can't I? Of course I can, but it probably wouldn't taste AS GOOD as this recipe would! I had no idea that egg whites were a necessary ingredient in making this type of snack mix.

Can I swap out the multi-grain Cheerio's for wheat Chex? Iove the consistency of the three cereals and the flavor of the wheat cereal over the multi-grain, so I think it would still work great. I want to add honey roasted peanuts instead of the pecans because we have a tree nut allergy in the home, but we can use peanuts.
