Slow Cooker Orange Chicken and Broccoli

"This easy Slow Cooker Orange Chicken and Broccoli has all of the flavors that you crave, but its a whole lot healthier than take-out! Instead of breading and frying the meat, you simply toss the ingredients in the slow cooker and move on with your day. A family-friendly slow cooker dinner will be ready and waiting for you a few hours later! You know those easy dinners that you can pick up from the Chinese restaurant or buffet that are coating in more breading and sticky sweet sauce than actual meat? Kids love those dishes, but theyre not the healthiest and theyre a pain in the neck to try to make at home! Once again, my slow cooker comes to the rescue! I can create the same type of Chinese-inspired dinner in my own kitchen with less work, using ingredients that I know and recognize. Best of all, the Slow Cooker Orange Chicken tastes absolutely amazing!"

Well, one of my favorite Asian-style meals is orange chicken, so this recipe is one that I will be trying very soon. I love broccoli too and pea pods, and shredded carrots would be wonderfully yummy and colorful additions. I love the idea of using orange marmalade (I almost always have it on hand) for its sweetness and great orange flavor. The bonus of just putting all of the ingredients in the crock pot is very appealing as well. I must try this very soon!

I have spent a lot of money on takeout before, only to see it swimming in more oil than sauce - this is definitely a much healthier, less greasy approach! The orange rind bits in the marmalade give it great flavor, without having to grate an orange! I like to throw a handful of blanched peanuts on top at the very end.

I just purchased some chicken and broccoli this week, so I'll definitely be trying this recipe this weekend!
