Does the sesame oil make a huge difference in this recipe, or could I use any oil and add some toasted sesame seeds? I love that you use the water chestnuts and the soy sauce. I think any Asian dish has to have these two ingredients. The peas are an awesome ingredient too.

Hi SissieSass, the sesame oil is where much of the flavor comes from in this recipe, so I really think this recipe would be lacking without it. - Natalie, Editor of AllFreeSlowCookerRecipes

I have to try this recipe! Just the fact you add the hot and sour soup mix will be a nice addition. I buy fried rice a lot. Now I can make my own and save money. You can add chopped chicken, pork or shrimp to it as well. That rice mixture you buy in the stores have you adding the rice to oil in the beginning as well. Now you don't have to buy the package in the store anymore. Thank you for the pattern

I certainly didn't. How clever.

This would be great to mix with some chicken for dinner! Can't wait to try it!
