Slow Cooker Sag Aloo

By: Christine Melanson from
Slow Cooker Sag Aloo
Slow Cooker Sag Aloo

"Sag aloo is a healthy and economical vegan dish, and an essential part of any Indian meal! This homemade sag aloo is super easy to make in the slow cooker, and this recipe adds ingredients in two stages to ensure you get the full depth of flavor with no additional effort. You can make a meal out of this with rice, naan and a yogurt dressing - or use it as a side dish with your favorite curry."

Since she suggests serving this along with naan and rice, I am assuming this is a die dish of sorts. After reading the ingredients, it's got a little bit of everything! It is such a healthy dish. I imagine that it has a great earthy taste to it, which would go great with the naan and a drizzle of that yogurt sauce. I am getting ideas now... something different for my family!

I had never heard of sag aloo. It looks and sounds delicious. Also I never knew you could fry vegetables in a slow cooker to start with. That makes it so easy. And then you add the other ingredients. How easy is that! I try not to eat a lot of meat and with a meal like this you don't have to. This is going on my list. I have to buy some of the seasoning but that is fine. I love to try new cuisines. Thank you.
