This Oh My Darlin' Dumplins and Chickene is a delicious and easy-to-make recipe for slow cooker chicken and dumplings. This hearty, old fashioned chicken dumplings recipe is made with chicken breasts, Yukon gold potatoes, baby-cut carrots, cream of chicken soup, biscuit baking mix, milk, tasty seasoning, and more.   • 6 (1-1/2-pound) skinless, boneless chicken breast halves, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 2 medium Yukon gold potatoes, cut into 1-inch pieces (about 2 cups)
  • 2 cups baby-cut carrots
  • 2 stalks celery, sliced (about 1 cup)
  • 2 (10-3/4-ounce) cans Campbell's® Condensed Cream of Chicken Soup (Regular or 98% Fat Free)
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme leaves, crushed
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 2 cups biscuit baking mix
  • 2/3 cup milk


  1. Stir the chicken, potatoes, carrots and celery in a 6-quart slow cooker.

  2. Stir the soup, water, thyme and black pepper in a medium bowl. Pour the soup mixture over the chicken and vegetables.

  3. Cover and cook on LOW for 7 to 8 hours or until the chicken is cooked through.

  4. Stir the baking mix and milk in a medium bowl.

  5. Drop the batter by spoonfuls onto the chicken mixture.

  6. Increase the heat to HIGH. Tilt the lid to vent and cook for 30 minutes or until the dumplings are cooked in the center.

Another great comfort food for the cold weather months. I love the shortcut to use Bisquick baking mix for the biscuit batter, just dolloping it over the top. You know what I hate? Buying a celery bunch and the recipe calls for using just two stalks. I have such trouble coming up with other ways to use more of the celery! I hate having to throw it away since it only stays fresh for about a week. In any case, it is a great church potluck meal as well, I think.

Oh, I love chicken and dumplings. I will leave out celery, but probably just add extra carrots. This is an all-around hearty meal, that will be a great addition to our Sunday meals. Can't wait to make it!
