- 1 lemon
- 8 apples (about 3 pounds), peeled and cut into 1/4-inch-thick slices
- 1/2 cup dried cherries
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 package (3.4 ounces) vanilla instant pudding and pie filling mix
- 3 cups milk
- 2 packages (10 ounces each) Pepperidge Farm® Puff Pastry Shells, prepared according to package directions

Grate 1/2 teaspoon zest from the lemon.

Stir the apples, cherries, sugar and lemon zest in a 4-quart slow cooker.

Cover and cook on LOW for 4 to 5 hours or until the apples are tender.

Beat the pudding mix and milk in a medium bowl with a whisk for about 2 minutes or until the mixture is thickened.

Divide the apple mixture among the pastry shells. Top with the pudding mixture.
