We do not sprinkle the panko/fried onion topping on there until it is put in the serving dish and we're ready to eat. I always thought we bake those along with the casserole. Shows how much I know. You will need to use a skillet for the mushrooms to saute them before adding to the milk and cream mixture. And, always spray your slow cooker with Pam when making anything that has cheese! I know this from experience.

My family loves green bean casserole. It is such a classic recipe, right? I can surprise them with the dish. Do I have to use the half and half, or can I use milk like the Campbell's recipe calls for in their recipe. I know my family will be surprised to have your take on a classic favorite.
