If there were two flavors that were made to be paired together, it was cinnamon and apples. These Slow Cooker Cinnamon Apples are the realization of a flavoring pairing that was truly meant to be. Cooked low over several hours, these cinnamon apples develop a rich flavor and a delightfully smooth texture that can only come from a homemade recipe. Cinnamon apples make an excellent topping for oatmeal, pancakes, and even ice cream. Or, serve these apples as a classic Southern side dish all on their own. There’s no wrong way to enjoy these apples!

Wow! This sounds like a wonderful pie filling or a base for apple crisp! I make my own apple butter, and I just saw a recipe for apple butter with a splash of bourbon poured in. Boy, would that ever make this quick and easy to put into the slow cooker, since I don't usually have bourbon on hand. Jonathan apples are my favorite variety, and the cinnamon and bourbon are perfect complements to their tart-sweet flavor.

Mmmm, I could picture this being the perfect topping to a scoop of vanilla ice cream!
