Does it matter what kind of milk I use in this recipe? I like to use evaporated milk in my mashed potato recipes. It just feels like it gives them a richer flavor without all the added calories of cream. I have a friend that uses a whole eight-ounce block of cream cheese too. I like both versions, so I am not sure which is my favorite. It's so hard to choose.

I really do not like making mashed potatoes on the stove top. The kitchen is already hot enough. I don't need that! So, I now can break out my slow cooker and let it do all the work, without driving up the temperature in the kitchen and throughout the rest of the house, too! Give me lots of garlic and lots of cheese and I am good to go. Great recipe to try!

I wish I had found this recipe for Thanksgiving! It would have freed up some of my time that day. These look easy and a great way to have mashed potatoes ready as a side. I've never added cheese to my mashed potatoes, so adding lots of cheese sounds amazing! Thanks Weberme for the idea of adding pepper jack cheese. I wonder how Colby jack would be?

This slow cooker cheesy mashed potatoes is a great idea and quick to make instead of stove top cooking and a easier clean up and who does not like that. A great side dish that goes well with a lot of dinners. Just put the potatoes in crock pot and when you come back 3 hours later the potatoes will be done enough to add the Parmesan cheese, sour cream and cheddar cheese for a great side dish to go with so many meals. I love these cheesy potatoes and I make mine on stove top but I will use this crock pot one for sure but I like to add some pepper jack cheese too sometimes to give it some extra kick. Great recipe.
