Beef Stew

"If you've never tried cooking stew, this simple Slow Cooker Beef Stew recipe will make it easy for you. We make this often during the winter months. If you're a beginner cook, just look for beef marked “Beef for Stew” in the meat department at your grocery store. The chunks are quite large, which is why I cut them smaller for the kids before cooking. The best meat for stew is usually the most inexpensive. It's the shoulder meat that is usually called ‘chuck' meat. It's got more connective tissue and it works best for a recipe where the meat is going to simmer for a long time. This low slow cooking process helps the meat breakdown and become tender instead of overcooking it and making it tough!"
