Now I know what to do with the left over ham I will have from another recipe. I love ham and bean soup and this recipe sounds delicious. It is all so healthy with the added vegetables and the beans. I love soup any time of the year and this will be perfect for the summer when you need something substantial but not too heavy at the same time. Ham is salty enough so you don't need to add any more. Thank you.

This is an excellent soup recipe, very hearty and filling, and such a rainbow of colors! We get our organic corn stone ground at an old water-powered mill not too far from us, and we always eat cornbread with any kind of bean soup. I have to mention that I never add salt to any ham dish. though.
