Have made this.. But the second time I placed 3 tablespoons of liquid smoke... plus 1 large can of stems pieces..

This sounds like a really great recipe to try for fall! MMMMMMM

I have to agree with buzzybee that we love the combination of apples and pork too. I was wondering if you ever tried a different soup choice like cream of celery or cheddar cheese soup in this recipe? I am just not a fan of mushrooms and my son is allergic.

Hi SissieSass, I think cream of celery would probably be your best bet for a substitution. - Natalie, Editor of AllFreeSlowCookerRecipes

Apples and pork are one of my familys favorite flavor combinations. Id cook as Rnbowgrl describes to get the flavor from the meat, and Id either use organic soup or skip it all together. With thickened pan drippings I wouldnt miss the soup. Usually I use apple cider instead of apple cider vinegar, but I can see how the vinegar would add a nice sweet and sour touch. I love French tarragon with pork and that would be my herb of choice. I have to say that 8 chops might feed my family, but Id have to use about one apple per chop to satisfy everyone!

Well, this gives new meaning to the term pork chops and applesauce. Cream of mushroom soup is good in so many ways...I really love cooking with it, but in this recipe I think I'd have to season and sear off the pork chops first before putting them into the crock pot. Then use the water to deglaze the pan, thicken it a bit with a little flour and add it into the pot as well for an extra depth of flavor.

One reason for thin sauce when using canned soup is too much water or another is that you tasted the sauce and then reused the spoon to stir it. You must use a different spoon to check for seasoning when using corn starch.

Sauce not thick at all. Going to have to play around to thicken it up. Not even a good stew. Was cooked though and pork was "pull apart with a spoon" tender

Hi kcm8849 1454109, Thanks for the feedback! You could try reducing the sauce on the stove once the pork is done, or add in some flour to help thicken the sauce. I hope this helps! Kaitlin, AllFreeSlowCookerRecipes Editor

I have never had apples with pork chops. It sounds very interesting. This recipe has alot of ingrediants, but sounds very easy to make. I am always looking for easy crock pot meals. I was thinking adding vegetables like potatoes, carrots or greens beans might be good. It would be fun to try and see what works best.

I've never tried the combo of pork and apples before, but this sounds too good not to try. Adding it to my recipe box!

This was supposed to be the recipe for Creamy Dreamy Chicken. Instead it is a repeat of the previous Savory Golden Mushroom Pork and Apples recipe. Would you please correct this. Thank you.

Pork, apples mushrooms and thyme are a winning combination. I am salivating just reading the recipe. I grow thyme in my rock garden and use it for cooking all summer long. I dry it for winter use. It is one of the hardest working perennials in my garden. #BestIdeaEver
