Frieling Cilio Mortar and Pestle Review

Frieling Cilio Mortar and PestleFrieling Cilio Mortar and Pestle Review
Gifted By: Frieling
Reviewed by Arielle Matlin, Editor,

Spices are essential to creating a delicious and flavorful dish. The Frieling Cilio Mortar and Pestle allows you to use all the best seasonings to craft the perfect blend. The mortar and pestle is great for grinding whole spices and for mixing spice blends.

This is truly a usable piece of art. The gorgeous mortar and pestle is cut from natural, uncoated granite. This actually helps increase the longevity of the set. The inside is unfinished and has a texture that helps to grind spices better.

Some may think a mortar and pestle is old-fashioned, but it is actually quite useful. I loved using it to grind whole spices like coriander and cardamom. I also liked using it to combine herbs into a blend. It helps to bring all the flavors together.

In addition to grinding spices, the mortar and pestle is another way to serve items like dip. It is especially perfect for serving guacamole because it has the traditional look of the bowls they use in Mexico.

I like that this set is a little more compact than others I have seen. This way you can keep it on the counter without losing much counter space. The beautiful design adds a little extra character to any countertop.
