This recipe for Pot Roast with Red Wine Balsamic Gravy is different from other pot roasts. You make gravy on the side first. Then, you pour it over the meat to make it tender. Red wine and balsamic vinegar combine for this pot roast with gravy. Beef stock and tomato paste also add extra moisture to the gravy. This slow cooker pot roast recipe calls for carrots, onions, and celery. You could also add chopped potatoes in if you'd like. Serve your pot roast with warm bread.

Could you just use red wine vinegar and eliminate the balsamic vinegar and the red wine in this dish or would it be too strong? I like the use of fresh veggies to make a complete dish so that when you are done cooking, your meal is ready to plate and eat. You don't have to do anything else to it.

Hi SissieSass, that might be a little strong. We'd recommend replacing the red wine with additional beef broth and replacing the balsamic with the red wine vinegar. I hope that helps! - Natalie, Editor of AllFreeSlowCookerRecipes
