This elegant Red Wine Flank Steak is an easy slow cooker steak recipe that is perfect for impressing your significant other. Learn how to cook flank steak in the slow cooker in just 5 easy steps. This is a great way to achieve super tender meat every time. Great flavors, like rosemary, red wine, lemon, and garlic, come together in your slow cooker for a meal that is as delicious as it is effortless. This is a great meal to prepare on Valentine's day or any day you feel like making a bit more special.


*Recipe calls for plastic slow cooker liner bag, but it is not necessary unless you plan on cooking two meals together in the slow cooker in separate liner bags.



Slow Cooker Time LOW7 hr

Cooking MethodSlow Cooker


  • Half of a 1- to 1.5-pound flank steak
  • salt and freshly ground pepper, to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced or 1 teaspoon bottled minced garlic
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice, or bottle lemon juice
  • 3/4 cup dry red wine
  • 2 sprigs fresh rosemary, or 1/2 teaspoon dried rosemary, crushed


  1. Insert plastic slow cooker liner bag into slow cooker.

  2. Add flank steak to the bottom of the liner. Season with salt and pepper.

  3. Stir together red pepper flakes, garlic, lemon juice, and red wine in a small bowl.

  4. Pour over steak.

  5. Top steak with rosemary.

  6. Cover and cook on LOW for 7 hours.

So just to make sure, I would have to quadruple this recipe to feed a family of eight? I like that you chose the red pepper flake and the rosemary. I think the earthiness of the rosemary pairs well with the spice from the red pepper flake. It gives the dish a unique flavor.
