It's funny, but just today I was talking with my mother and she was asking me how to cook ribs in the slow cooker, and if it would work or not. I told her I had no idea because I have never made ribs at all myself! Because of finding this recipe, I now know how to do it! You will brown them first, then deglaze the bits in the pan and add the tomato sauce and spices to that. Simple! She threw carrots on top. Wonder if you could use sweet potatoes, too? Potatoes and ribs. Yum.

How tender do the ribs come out in this recipe? Are they falling off the bone when you are done? I have never tried to make short ribs before, so I am a little hesitant that they will come out right. I am curious because they are such a barbecue staple, and I want to add new recipes to our lineup.
