I see that you use a lot of mushrooms in this dish, but unfortunately I am allergic to them. Do you have something else you can recommend for me to use to take the place of the fungi? I want to try this dish, but I don't know if I need more onion or carrots, or maybe just some extra potatoes.

Hi SissieSass, I think you could add in more carrots and potatoes instead of the mushrooms. Good idea! - Natalie, Editor of AllFreeSlowCookerRecipes

Pot roasts are always good comfort food, and isn't doesn't matter what time of year you make them, when you use your slow cooker. I wonder if the onion soup makes it taste too salty? I've never used cream of mushroom soup with my pot roast. I'm sure that will taste great with the vegetables.
