Sloppy Joes is always a fantastic and popular dinner dish to make on a busy weeknight. Your kids always go crazy for this ground beef dish and for you it is incredibly fast and easy to make. Beef, Italian sausage and marinara sauce give this dish a lot of flavor and gusto. You also want to cook the meat before you put your slow cooker sloppy joes recipes in your slow cooker. It will have a better outcome if it is pre-cooked. A slice of mozzarella or provolone cheese on the top of your sloppy joe gives it that Italian twist that changes up your traditional dish into something a little different.

Do you think that this idea would work out ok with ground Italian sausage? I have several pounds of it in my freezer that I need to use up, and I was thinking that this recipe would work out great if I could use it in it. I like that you chose marinara sauce for the sandwiches. It has to be one of my favorites.

Hi SissieSass, since this recipe already calls for half Italian sausage, I think it would work fine to use all Italian sausage. I hope you enjoy this recipe! - Natalie, Editor of AllFreeSlowCookerRecipes
